Unfortunately, I don't have the capability to do so. It was a photograph of her drawing and I don't have photoshop or anything like that. I'll put it in paint and see if I can make it more clear.

Wow- labsnabys and Wendyjo especially!Very nice Buick Skylark and spouting-whale shrubbery.
I certainly appear to be the most simple minded one here.
Rancette, mighty fine miter.
Grace,I see you brought the umbrella with the daffodils on it.

Well, I am glad you are all enjoying the book club but what happened to the other story? This blog that use to belong to Rance was great! Now it is more like a personal chat room. I am happy for those of you involved in this but I am sorry to have lost the original idea behind this adventure.I am also sad that there is no ending to the story. Where is Rance? Does he have another blog? Maybe you guys should change the name so no gets disappointed when the visit.

Hope you all enjoy the book.

The name of the site has been changed it's called "Rance wuz here" meaning he was here at one point, but now he's gone and that's that.

It also seems as if "The Smell of Fear" was once here, but now it too is gone and that's that.

Sorry for the double post...It's so embarrassing to be a double poster.

It's alright. You're excused. Thanks for taking the time to explain the obvious. Some people, you know...

This is far and away the best collection of scrimshaw renditions of any chapter of any book I've ever written! I'm blown away, speaking of which, I hope you guys illustrate the brothel chapter.

Bubba - good job for throwing in a "The Smell Of Fear" reference. Heh. I for one don't really miss all the Brazilian fangirls, even as entertainingly exotic as they were.

Yes, the Entity that was Rance is no longer here. We're just keeping the light on and telling tales to pass the time.

P.S. It appears that the next Pope might be a conehead. If he's from France, watch for deliveries of chicken embryos and potato chips to the Vatican to triple in the coming weeks.

Nelson, you really shouldn't run around impersonating Keith. Illustrate the brothel? Why the thought NEVER crossed my mind...(<;

Ginny,

Pardon me for my ignorance as I am not Catholic, but I'm beginning to wonder if the term "blowin smoke..." was derived from this somewhat strange tradition. Does anyone know???

Sincerely,
RDD (<;

being catholic, i can't explain the tradition, but i have always wondered why, what with the incense burning during mass, the different colored smoke when a pope gets elected, why there is such an objection to pot?

did i say that?

All I can say is "Arghhhhhhh"

Bad news, my dsl went down last night.

Good news, they were reconfiguring the server, since I can now get back onto Tripod.

Bad news, my book is no doubt sitting in Paris, waiting for me.

Good news, I will probably be going in a couple of weeks, and so won't have to wait until August to pick it up.

Bad news, I'm going to have to not read this until I get my book, otherwise I may end up knowing what happens before I have the chance to read it.

I don't understand the references that the scrimshaws make, but they're all still very imaginative/abstract - at least as far as I can tell!

Bubba, I'm not fretting that Rance has gone, because I believe that RDD is doing a fantastic job - but I do still live in hope that at some point we will be able to read the ending to 'The Smell of Fear'.... please RDD - I'll be very good, I promise.

As for Roberta's comment that this site has turned into a chat room... well, duh, that's what we like about it!!!! Sorry if it doesn't meet your obviously exacting criteria for a good website, but majority rules, and not many sane and rational people seem to be complaining.

Hope to chat to you all again soon!

We should only be on chapter 10 by then, so perhaps there's still time!

That's okay RDD... I am still enjoying the discussions and look forward to reading the book when the bottle it's sailing around the world in eventually reaches me on my isolated island ;) - if nothing else, you have definitely peaked my interest in obtaining a book that I may never have otherwise seen or noticed, thereby expanding my literate horizons. And being an avid reader that is no small feat. So for that, I thank you deeply.

I'll try but the problem is that I don't have a scanner. We'll see...

RDD & Bubba et all,

Well, thanks for being so nice. The site belonged to rance, he held a contest to see who could take it over and I had hoped it would remain similar to the format and fun dialogue Rance had started. Thanks, as you pointed out for explaining the obvious, especailly about the "Smell of Fear". I was simply inquiring because I use to enjoy this site. So, thanks for your time, a bit of an amusing story and I won't bother visiting any more. Apparently, my comments and questions are not welcome since I am not in the book club.

Best to all
