some really nice serpents there, ladies! just realized why a serpent couldn't "carry" a walking stick...
great to hear from you, gnomie! missed you and am really glad to hear you're feeling better. let's all hope the rest of your pregnancy goes better. my daughter is at the stage where she can't lift too much weight. her two girls are have some difficulty with not being picked up by mommy. so grannie has to do some extra carrying to make up for it. i'm really getting too old for this, cause they're getting bigger every day.
kisshugs!

See, great minds do think alike. ;o)
Wow, Labs, you actually drew yours... I cheated and just added to some clipart. Love the eyes...erm, eye... on yours. Great expression!
Ok, this would be the point when I admit that I am experiencing a complete mental block preventing me from coming up with questions on the next chapters. So far we have
1)Insert witty question here
2)Insert thought provoking questions here
3)Insert semi-personal question here
etc.
I'm trying, really I am. Maybe it's the primary scene of action that's leaving me speechless.

Darn, the internet ate my first comment! I was saying how my pathetic drawing doesn't even deserve to be on the same page as Trillian's masterpiece. Now, however, I am informed that it is CLIP ART! With a tophat added. I don't feel so bad. But trillian, if you hadn't said anything, I would have gone on believing you were a masterful artist.
Funny how those minds think alike, but um...isn't yours diseased or something? Maybe I should see a doctor. :)

unfortunately, the pregnancy isn't the only problem at the moment. my husband has decided that now that i'm pregnant with our second set of twins in two years, it's a good time to have a marital crisis - which, of course, i never even saw coming! so i'm kind of having everything fall apart at the moment and am taking things one day at a time and trying to stay positive so that i don't fall apart too.
i've got a lot of months left to be needing to lift the boys... as i'm not due until January and am only 9 1/2 weeks gone now! the boys are only just about to turn two but they are each about the size of a solid three year old, so lifting them is going to be impossible. but i do have a lot of family around that can help with them, and my hubby is, apparently, planning to be around to help with that side of things too.
i have my first hospital check-up next week and i also go back to my own doctor during the week too.
enjoy your grand-daughters... as i'm sure they're enjoying extra time with grannie! i know my eldest has enjoyed spending the past couple of weeks with my parents for a bit of a break... and doesn't want to come home at all.
take care, talk soon,
gnomie :)

must be something in the air, gnomie. my daughter's fiance is causing some problems also. this is his second child with her, and they decided that maybe they should get married. he claimed he wanted to be a part of everything to do with the wedding. now, he's too busy... working, doing things with his parents, etc. you combine this with her hormonal surges and you can picture how things have been going. since i don't really approve of him, my advice was if you don't think it's going to work, cancel the wedding and call domestics.
men as a species, are very fragile. they could NOT carry a baby to term, let alone twins. i would imagine that your hubby is scared shitless right now. i know nothing about your situation, but kids cost a bundle, and to pop them out 2 at a time is worse. nothing you can do about it, but it might take some time til daddy faces up to it. hopefully, it won't take too much time, since you don't need anymore stress.
just got back from the grocery store with my 2. we love shopping together, but they are learning how to spend grannie's money too well! we have another sonogram next week, so hopefully we'll know the sex of the new one then.
kisshugs! keep calm and take deep breaths and long walks!

Apparently it's not the kids, it's me! About two weeks after I found out we were pregnant he informed me that he hasn't been happy for 12 months, doesn't love me and it can't be fixed. (The best bit is he's been unhappy because I'm not domesticated enough and haven't done enough housework!) He's turning 30 this month, and his new best buddy (and apparently the only person who understands him) is the 19 year old girl ex-girlfriend of our sister-in-law's brother (who stayed with us for the week before all this happened so we could help her cope with her breakup) - can anyone say MID LIFE CRISIS???
My biggest question in all of this has been if he was that unhappy what happened to telling me at some point, and why on earth did he get me pregnant???? I'm going to have five children on my own, and four of them will be under three years of age. So that's going to be fun!
I think the planets must be severely out of alignment at the moment because the amount of people going through similar things is ridiculous. And I for one, can't wait for the balance to return.
I've had enough stress in the past three weeks to last a lifetime. Instead of my pregnancy being the joyful blessing it should have been, it's an added drama. On one side I have my dad advocating abortion, and on the other I have my mother-in-law suggesting I give my babies to my brother-in-law and his wife to raise. LIKE HELL! I don't see why I should have to miss out on my beautiful children simply because their father can't be bothered to stay and work at a marriage. (I mean all it would take is a conversation to disscuss what the actual problems are, and maybe another one or two to work out solutions!)
Never mind me, I'm just having a rant. You can see why I've stayed quiet for the last couple of weeks though! I hope everything works out for your daughter... I know how stressful it is to arrange a wedding while pregnant (I got married about 5 weeks before giving birth to the first set of twins!) I'm still staying hopeful that my husband will come to his senses, but even if he doesn't I will be fine and survive - women are stronger than men. And I know that I can do it... I'm just waiting until the first yucky part of the pregnancy passes before even contemplating dealing with it all!
I've been doing lots of meditating, and deep breathing and attempting to stay positive, and it seems to be working so far.

awww, gnomie, i really wish we lived on the same continent. i make a damn good babysitter/grannie... i would help if i could. but i'm here for all the moral support you can handle. my grandmother, on my mother's side, finished raising 8 kids alone. my grandfather had died young due to black lung disease, something that killed a lot of coal miners. so if a poor polish lady could do it, i know you can! kick him out now and go for child support immediately. let's see if chickie-poo still likes him when he's broke. i realize that sounds cruel and heartless, but come on, you do have to think of yourself and the kids.
kisshugs to all of you!

Thanks for the support feenxc. he moved out yesterday, and by law I have to get child support, I'm looking into all the paperwork for that stuff today... as depressing as it is, i do have to do it.
i do have a lot of support... from both our families, so i know that i'll be fine. I just really didn't need the added stress right now!
never mind, what doesn't kill us, makes us stronger!!!
kisshugs back to you and your girls,

Name: labsnabysGnomie, I just wanted to add that I am so sorry for what you are going through right now. I can't imagine how stressful it all must be for you. I am glad you have family support nearby and hope you can and will take advantage of them in the coming months of your pregnancy. Feel free to vent as much as you need to, and do whatever you need to in order to take care of yourself...

Thanks for that. I am actually pretty calm about it at the moment. My in-laws are devastated and can't believe how reasonable I'm being. But I have to be for the kids. I'm doing the best I can to take care of myself, and I have a lot of family and friends around to make sure that I do.
The part I've found most disturbing in all of this is how many other people seem to be going through similar things right now! There seems to be an epidemic.
Hopefully whatever is causing this mass upheaval will sort itself out and everyone will be fine!

Take good care of yourself, sweetheart.
Even if you (naturally) feel overwhelmed at times, I know that your love for your precious children- all of them, including the two little lives still forming- will help you find the strength to get thru this.
I think it's fantastic that you're doing so well at providing some stability for the little ones, but remember to take some you time, too.
My thoughts and prayers are with you. Big hugs are winging their way from me to you, so be sure to let 'em in when they get there. :o)

And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels,
And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven.
And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.
Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.

Well if everyone that pops in is going to be rude to the people who have been trying to run this site for your benefit, then they're not going to come back are they! If you don't like the site, go elsewhere. I'm sure most of you couldn't run the site and still have a life like the people here are trying to do. If you don't have anything constructive to say, try saying nothing at all! It's not like most of you say anything when it's all running well.
Rubber Duckie, I hope all is well. I know you're on leave due to family crises, and so are some of the others. (It seems to be the time of year for them at the moment.) Hope it all works out for you all.
I'm pleased to inform you that my own personal crisis has been resolved. Hubby has come to his senses - finally - and we're working things out. The bubs are both doing well so far, and there's been no more emergency trips to the hospital. I look forward to chatting to you all again when you return!

If I feel like complaining then I will! You're not my mother, so you don't have the ability to dictate what I say! I did have things to say when this site was interesting and I am within my rights to express my displeasure with what has become of it. If you don't like it then YOU can go someplace else beyotch!

To Gnomie,
You are a wonder and a pillar of strength and tolerance. You can get through this and enjoy it. It's a matter of perspective. Don't hesitate to date while you are pregnant. I know it sounds absurd. But, honestly, I know some guys that would have loved to have been with you. I also know some that have dated pregant women, in the same scenario. So, think outside the box. This world is crazy. But, for the record, the children are far more worth it, than the men are, anyways. So, I don't really see what you are missing. Now, isn't she just going to love being a teenage stepmom of 4. LOL! In a few months she'll be leaving him, as he'll be having her be the babysitter while he reads the paper once the newness wears off. It's all about the penis. LOL.
Also, you read it exactly. It's a midlife crisis. Classic textbook case.
I'm thinking you haven't taken it personal. I think that is great. I think you will wind up better off than you know.
I'd much rather take care of 2 newborns and two toddlers, than take care of one man. I'd take that anyday of the month. You are incredibly lucky. I wish I could have them. I would.
Good luck. Take care.
