Rance wuz here...
Friday, 1 April 2005
Ahem, testing, testing
Unfortunately, Rubber Duckie has been involved in a bit of a car accident this afternoon. No major injuries, however, she did suffer a bump on the noggin that appears to be creating what the doctors assure us is only a temporary case of amnesia.

I have taken it upon myself to stand in for Rubber Duckie for one reason, and one reason only. To finish the flocking story. You will have closure. RDD, bless her heart, although witty and somewhat intelligent, has her shortcomings. Finishing this story, among other things, is one of them.

I will succeed where all others have failed. I will tell the story.

Peace to the good. Torment to the Evil.

Art,
Give Rubber Duckie our best! Besides the good story she has shared with us, overall Duckie seems to be a very nice, down to earth, sweet person...and in this day and age that is a hard to come by commodity. I will miss her commentary.

I look forward to your 'perception' with Smell of Fear,
Get Well Duckie!

welcome, art. this should be fun. we've "met" you thru rdd and her perceptions of you. now we'll get to know you for ourselves. i just can't wait!

rdd, i do hope you are alright. maybe the amnesia will be useful. like maybe you forgot how to do the laundry, or vacuum, or wash dishes...

major kisshugs, very gently to help your boo-boo get better, just like i do for my grandgirls.

This had better be the worst April Fool's Day joke of all time, or... there shall be heck to pay.

RDD! Yikes!

Well, get on with the flocking story already, Art. We anxiously await getting flocked over.

If this is for real: Get well soon Duckie! Nice to meet you Art.

If this is an April 1st prank: Ha! good one!

I look forward to my side of the story as well. I'm often "misunderstood".

I don't know any April and I'm definitely no fool. A little flaky, maybe, but no fool.

I've got a long way to go and a short time to get there, but once I do, it'll be flocking great.

Art, you have very big shoes to fill to finish Rubber Duckie's story... good luck! I look forward to finding out how the story continues, and to seeing if you can write as well as RDD.

Rubber Duckie - as an official amnesiac, you should also forget anything that has bothered you lately and expect full invalid status from your family. (ie: tell your hubby to mollycoddle you for a few weeks - car accidents can be a huge shock to the system.) Get better soon, we all miss you lots!

Still waiting to hear "April Fools!"...

We miss you, RDD. Consider yourself hugged!

"Somewhat intelligent"? That's an understatement, darlin.

Art, I am truly looking forward to your viewpoint. Finish the story and be the recipient of the undying gratitude of tens of people. Abbreviate all ya want, just finish it!

Of course it was an April Fool's. RDD never told me you all were such suckers. But I'm still here to tell the rest of the flocking story, like it or not. BOLO for Page 30.

Cheryl,

You need to get with the program missy. Rance's identity is not the reason people visit this blog. We happen to enjoy its unique cyber-community and Rubber's very intriquing story.

Personally, I don't care if Rance is the crazy guy in the cube next to me typing fiercely while he chokes down his coffee. See, Rance is in each and everyone of us who have a shred of piss and vinegar in us and will neither confirm nor deny it.

Take care and visit more often. You'll see what I'm talking about.

Sigh. Typical male. Five days ago he promises "I'll call you, babe, really" (er, that is, finish the story)

And leaves us hanging, with no follow thru.

I've got to learn to leave these pirates and artistic types alone.

Tuesday, 5 April 2005 - 11:31 AM CDT

Trillian, it's anti-social types.

No, it's Art-istic types

It's amazing how insightful crazy people are. They hunt, they sleuth, they find things out...why? Because they are crazy, and they don't want to be, they want people to believe them. And in this case, people should. But, damn it, she's actually making sense now!!...Rance wasn't John Cusack as Cheryl used to say (and whom she used to have pretend bloggersations with), Rance is somebody else.

Keith Thompson = Gus Openshaw = Rance

Not that that has to ruin anything going on these days...the only thing ruining my fun is that Duckie disappeared..perhaps "Rance" said, "Hey, you're a good writer, do what I did, stop doing it for free, and write a book." Damn it again. Now what will I read, what will I long for while online?

Art = Rat = Tar....I don't know what that means, but it has to mean something...maybe a rat that paints while smoking hand rolled cigarettes. It's all just too much and not nearly enough.

Slipping away to that place where conversations actually happen and aren't "anyday now" (meaning, I'm tired of being teased like a balding virgin accountant in a seersucker polyester suit sitting front row in a strip club...or Michael Jackson at a kid's birthday party),

How can Art wish peace to the good and torment to the evil and then torment us by not following through... does this mean he thinks we're all evil??? (I certainly hope not!)

We're all really hanging for the next update to the story, Art, so get on with it already. Don't make promises you don't intend to keep, or you'll turn us all into Cheryl's - hunting and tracking you on the internet. I don't need the whole story right now, just the next little bit of info would do nicely, and you can work up to your next installment.

Rubber Duckie, we miss you lots and hope that Art hasn't stuffed you in a bathroom cupboard somewhere never to see the light of day!!!

Take care,
Gnomie :)
